What OrcaSlicer is
OrcaSlicer is a slicer derived from Bambu Studio, which grew out of PrusaSlicer. It supports printers from many makers, including ones Bambu Studio does not know. It has predefined profiles and calibration tests for flow, temperature or retraction. You will find the documentation on the project wiki.
OrcaSlicer in our calculator
We calculate the price and the lead time on the server with a program based on OrcaSlicer. After you upload a model it is genuinely prepared for printing, so we find out the grams of material, the print time and how many pieces fit on one bed. That is why the price is not an estimate from volume. We generate supports automatically and they are included in the price, as are minor mesh repairs.
How to send a model from OrcaSlicer
The simplest thing is to save the project as 3MF, which keeps the colours and dimensions. If you have only one colour, STL is enough too. For more colours, assign the colours to parts of the model and save the project. Upload a file up to 50 MB.
Do not send G-code. It is prepared for a different printer and we cannot use it.
The difference between your calculation and ours
If you have already printed something with OrcaSlicer, you know that calibration tests help you fine-tune flow, temperature and speed. We have that sorted out for our own printers. For you this means you can send a model no matter which printer you have, and it will be printed to our settings.
If you prepare a model yourself in OrcaSlicer, the time and material use may come out different from ours, because we print on different printers with our own profile. You choose the strength and the material in the calculator and the price is then recalculated accordingly.
Common questions
Is OrcaSlicer free?
Yes, it is free and open source.
Should I send a project from OrcaSlicer?
Yes, as 3MF. We accept it up to 50 MB, with colours assigned.
Why does the print time differ from what my OrcaSlicer shows?
We print on different printers with a different profile and speeds. What counts is the calculation in our calculator.

Slicer
A slicer is a program that cuts a 3D model into thin layers and works out the nozzle path for each one. The result is G-code for the printer and exact figures for material use and print time.
Bambu Studio
Bambu Studio is a free, open source slicer from Bambu Lab. It is used mainly by owners of Bambu printers, but it is an ordinary slicer and we can accept a 3MF project from it.
PrusaSlicer
PrusaSlicer is a free, open source slicer from Prusa Research. It converts a 3D model into instructions for the printer and lets you set up the print in detail.
3MF
3MF is a 3D printing file format that carries units, colours, materials and several parts as well as the shape of the model. It succeeds STL and is the best choice for multicolour printing.
G-code
G-code is a list of commands for a printer or CNC machine that sets the movements, speed, temperature and amount of material. In 3D printing a slicer creates it from a 3D model.
Full bed
A full bed is when as many pieces of one model as possible fit on the print plate and the printer prints them all at once. The price per piece is then at its lowest.
