Reverse charge: an invoice without VAT for 3D printing
Reverse charge means that VAT is not charged by the supplier but accounted for by the customer in their own country. With us it applies to EU companies with a valid VAT number in another member state.

How it works
In an ordinary sale the seller collects VAT and pays it to the state. With the reverse charge the buyer does it: the supplier issues an invoice without VAT and the customer accounts for the tax in their own VAT return, and at the same time can deduct it. For the company the result is therefore neutral. VAT in general is explained by Wikipedia and by the European Commission on its VAT page.
The practical consequence for you is that the price on the invoice is lower by the VAT, but you report the VAT yourself in your return. If you are a VAT payer with a full right of deduction, you will not notice it in your wallet.
When you get an invoice without VAT from us
If you are a company with a valid VAT number in an EU member state other than Slovakia, you get an invoice without VAT. Enter the VAT number when ordering. Companies from Slovakia get an invoice with VAT, the same as private persons.
The minimum order of 15 € is always excluding VAT, so the difference affects only the final amount.
So check the details before paying. A wrong VAT number or an incorrect company name will delay the issue of the correct document.
Verifying a VAT number
You can check validity in the VIES system of the European Commission, which also works as a VAT information exchange. The number has to be active at the time of invoicing. If you are not in the register, we have to charge VAT.
What to watch for
- Details on the invoice. The company name and VAT number must match the register.
- Delivery. We ship to SK, CZ, HU, PL, AT and DE.
- Accounting. The VAT return in your country is for your accountant, we are only the supplier. This is not tax advice.
